SDN Land Surveyors has over 25 years experience in the provision of land surveying services throughout Sydney and regional NSW.  SDN Land Surveyors is based in the Sutherland Shire and we are an energetic and talented team ready to take on any surveying challenge. 

 

Utilising the latest equipment from Leica including robotic theodolite, automatic level and real time GPS, our field data collection is backed up by the latest CAD software for processing and presentation of plans.

 

We are members of the "Association of Consulting Surveyors NSW" and "The Institution of Surveyors NSW inc" and are fully insured (Certificates of Currency provided upon request).

 

We deliver professional results whilst providing personal service underpinned by strong ethical standards.  Our services range from small residential surveys to major infrastructure projects.  Every project is afforded the same attention to detail and our efficient methods provide a cost effective and fast turn-around time for your project.

 


Stuart de Nett, founder SDN Land Surveyors



 

Stuart de Nett is a Registered Surveyor and Founding Director of SDN Land Surveyors.  Stuart obtained his Bachelor of Surveying (Hons) degree from the University of NSW in 1987 and was recognized as a Registered Surveyor in 1996. He was elected Secretary of the St George/Sutherland Group Institution of Surveyors NSW from 2001 – 2009.

 

Prior to establishing his own business in 2008, Stuart worked with various companies managing projects and assisting them to achieve results through attention to detail, cost effective solutions and client satisfaction..

 

Stuart understands that strong client relationships are the building blocks of any business and he Is always willing to discuss how he can best meet your survey requirements.

Technician Surveyor / Graduate Surveyor

 

Established practice based in Sutherland is seeking a technician or graduate surveyor to join our team and take on various projects in and around Sydney and the occasional wider NSW/ACT region.  Projects range from small residential setout surveys and site details to larger construction projects 

 

SDN Land Surveyors is a small yet progressive company that is built on strong client relationships.  We understand the need for accuracy and attention to detail while achieving practical outcomes.  For each project, we expect dedication and commitment, we encourage new ideas to solve problems and we offer training to advance knowledge and skills when required.  We understand you have a life outside of work and we offer flexible hours when these occasions arise..

 

As well as being self-motivated, reliable, articulate and well presented, our new team member will be able to:

 

  • demonstrate an ability to work solo in the field with robotic equipment
  • communicate with clients or site managers to clarify requirements
  • quickly assess a site to achieve a reliable survey outcome
  • process work efficiently in an office environment
  • see a job to completion even if it means working back occasionally (field and office)
  • express a working knowledge of Work Health and Safety requirements
  • work in a team environment

    Your day to day field activities will include:

     

  • setout and construction surveys
  • site detail surveys
  • cadastral surveys
  • lease area and volume determinations
  • other survey related tasks

    And your day to day office activities will include:

     

  • job preparation
  • plan and information searching
  • calculations
  • uploading/downloading data
  • processing and drafting
  •  

    Essential qualifications are:

     

  • completed TAFE  “Diploma in Surveying” or University “Bachelor of Surveying” or equivalent with
  •    minimum 3+ years field experience

  • Australian residency
  • a current NSW drivers licence
  •  

    Ideally, you will also have:

     

  • familiarity with Leica 1200 or Viva series of robotic total stations & GPS
  • AutoCAD drafting capability
  • experience with LISCAD or similar survey software
  • some references from people who are impressed by you and your abilities
  • a great attitude and a desire to learn
  • a reasonable commute to Sutherland
  •

    Registered Surveyor

    Your day to day field activities will mostly be cadastral based and will consist of all types of survey plans (redefinition, subdivision, lease, stratum, strata, etc.) but may also include:

     

  • setout and construction surveys
  • Site detail surveys
  • lease area and volume determinations
  • other survey related tasks
  •  

    And your day to day office activities will include:

     

  • job preparation
  • plan and information searching
  • calculations
  • uploading/downloading data
  • processing and drafting
  • overseeing the work of other survey staff
  •  

    Essential qualifications are:

     

  • completed University “Bachelor of Surveying” or equivalent with minimum 3+ years field experience
  • Registration with BOSSI for NSW
  • permanent Australian residency
  • a current NSW drivers licence
  •  

    Ideally, you will also have:

     

  • familiarity with Leica 1200 or Viva series of robotic total stations & GPS
  • AutoCAD drafting capability
  • experience with LISCAD or similar survey software
  • some references from people who are impressed by you and your abilities
  • a great attitude and a desire to learn
  • a reasonable commute to Sutherland
  •
